Training & Education

Traineeships

Sport SA works in partnership with the Department of Children's Services (DECS), Office for Recreation and Sport (ORS) and Group Training Company AFL Sportsready to provide opportunities for young people to participate in traineeship programs. All trainees employed in these programs undertake studies towards Nationally recognised qualifications while gaining industry experience at their place of employment.
Traineeships can be completed in the following qualifications:
Certificate II in Sport & Recreation
Certificate III in Sport & Recreation
Certificate III in Fitness
Certificate III in Community Recreation
Traineeship positions are advertised in September/October each year.

Nationally Accredited Courses

Sport SA provides Fee for Service Certificate courses as follows:

Certificate III in Sport & Recreation
Certificate IV in Sport & Recreation

These courses commence in January through to December. There are no mid year enrolments.

Industry Training

In recognition of the importance of training in the Sports Industry Sport SA continues to provide customised training programs to its member sporting organisations and clubs in a range of areas:

  • Volunteer Management
  • Event Support
  • Conflict Resolution & Mediation
  • Compliance - relevant Acts & Regulations
  • Governance.

VET in Schools

Sport SA provides partnership agreements with suitably qualified schools to deliver Certificate II level units of competency from the Nationally Accredited Sport and Recreation Training Package.
