Sport SA Sport Volunteer Support Programme

Sport SA is a South Australian not for profit organisation that actively engages volunteers in sporting and recreation volunteer work. Through their continued support volunteers have helped the sport and recreation industry continue to provide an amazingly diverse range of activities throughout South Australia on a daily basis.

Our support programme includes responding to the needs of our 142 member organisations and establishing a network of people interested in providing risk and problem free sporting events to competitors from grassroots to elite standards.

Volunteering is a great way to be a part of Sport SA's ongoing support of the sporting and recreational community in South Australia. Sport SA and its members rely on the valuable support of more than 3,000 volunteers throughout the state to work in collaboration with member organisations to assist in the successful running of events. Volunteer numbers continue to increase offering a more diverse and talented group of people to draw on.

By becoming a volunteer you have an opportunity to help make a difference. Whether your inclination is to assist in marshalling, event management, administration, communications or IT work, the Sport SA Sport Volunteer Support Programme has opportunities for volunteers with a whole range of different skills, knowledge and experience. Our volunteers comprise of people of all ages, professions and backgrounds. You will be amazed at the new skills you pick up as well as the  wonderful experiences you encounter the more events you work at.

Whatever time you can give whether it's one hour a week or one day a month it will be appreciated and acknowledged. We require motivated individuals that can work in team situations or be relied upon to work responsibly on their own.

We rely on the valuable support of people who can improve the experience of sporting and recreational participants in a variety of programs. This is an opportunity for you to share your skills with a variety of sport and recreational organisations.

We have also now included on our Volunteer Registration site the ability to volunteer whilst working from home. If you have IT skills you may choose to help design posters, maintain results or even send out media releases during an event. The options are endless for the skills you can provide from home! 

In conjunction with the Office for Recreation and Sport, Sport SA has developed a programme with the ability to match the needs of the Sporting and Recreational community with those skills offered by individual volunteers.
It is a quick and easy way of cross matching the requirements of one with the skill set of another.
