Sport SA in association with The Advertiser and Channel Seven have joined forces to hold The Ultimate Celebration of South Australian Sport

This year will see our State's premier athletes compete around the globe in a variety of sporting events - the Commonwealth Games in India, Soccer World Cup in South Africa as well as the much anticipated Ashes series here in Australia.

The aim of The Ultimate Celebration of South Australian Sport is to recognise the feats of these modern day sportspeople as well as those past greats who forged their own sporting success in years gone by. This night will comprehensively acknowledge those exceptional people in South Australian sport in the following categories.

Legend Inductees
An honour bestowed on those Hall of Famers who have not only distinguished themselves at the highest performance level but have also offerred inspiration to other South Australians. They will have lived by a code of values that are inspiring and include pride, respect, honour and have shown a fierce determination in the face of extreme adversity.

Hall of Fame Inductees.
The introduction of a Hall of Fame for sport in South Australia paves the way for the induction into immortality of the first of our greatest sportmen and women. It will take us on a journey back in time to recall the remarkable sporting feats that have helped to shape our past and inspired the future for following generations.

Sports Star of the Year
Awarded to the premier South Australian athlete based on his or her performance throughout the year nationally and internationally.

Team of the Year
Recognising the state's best performed team both nationally and internationally.

Junior Sports Star of the Year Award
Recognising the state's best performed junior athlete

Elite Athlete with a Disability
Recognising the best performing athlete with a disability

Tanya Denver Award for Endeavour and Sportsmanship
Recognising an inspirational athlete based on the courage and performance shown to reach the elite level.

Event of the Year
Awarded to a state sporting event largely organised by a state sporting body that has achieved a high standard of excellence. Nomination form.

Country Athlete of the Year
Must be a resident in regional South Australia who has achieved outstanding sporting success in country competition. Nomination form.

Coach of the Year
Awarded to an individual who has either made a significant contribution to the success of a person /team or has shown excellence in coaching practices. Nomination form.

Official of the Year
Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated dedication, skill, knowledge and expertise in officiating at the highest possible level. Nomination form.

Administrator of the Year
Awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution to their chosen sport or the sports industry as a whole. Nomination form.

Volunteer of the Year
Awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the sports industry in a voluntary capacity. Nomination form.
